All my life I have been on a quest to be prepared, it must be leftover from my Boy Scout days. I truly adore having the item needed at the precise moment when nobody else has it handy. I love being the neighbour all the others turn to in a pinch for tools, or supplies. But admittedly, the arrival of an unexpected guest at my frontdoor always through me for a loop.

Recently, I made headway in this area. I decided that any surprise visitors during warm months will be ushered directly to the garden. There we can comfortably visit upon my new garden bean bags which help to establish that nonchalant devil may care appearance. Now, once I have the guests seated I can excuse myself and return inside to throw together snacks and drinks without that uncomfortable feeling of them staring over my shoulder. After drooling over a friends home entertainment area for a couple of years, I have been given the green light by my wife to create my own. Justifiably, she had her doubts as to whether what I told her it would cost was what it would really cost. I look forward to me time, but never seem to get any. So, I have formulated a plan. I figure what I need is a really organized lead into the designated self indulgent time. So, I revamped my living room with some funky bean bags, picked up a dozen fabulous cupcakes, gathered all the tabloid mags I could and have a time set for seven fifteen on Thursday eve.

It is kinda like I made a date to chill by myself. I fill the calendar with work obligations, birthday parties, seminars and training for the London marathon. Some downtime is much deserved, and lounging on bean bags, basking in the delicious flavour of cupcakes made by someone else, and spluring valuable minutes on news regarding that silly Jordan is where it is at.
