The Best Summer Purchase Ever

August 29th, 2010 by admin

Ah the things I love most about summer can be counted on one hand, but they are all fantastic, and inexpensive. Personally, I believe homemade iced tea is unbeatable. It is refreshing and tasty. Then, there is the lazy day spent on the beach. I am lucky enough to be within an hours drive to a beach. So, all that costs me is the gas I use to get to and fro. In addition, my beloved bike that I got from a charity shop holds my heart. Though it may get blisteringly hot, when I jump on the bike I get the benefit of a breeze from the motion I propel. Finally, the bean bag chairs I bought last summer are the greatest spontaneous investment I have ever made. Initially, I intended to use the funky bean bags intermittently in the garden. However, they not only get used every single week in the summer, I also use them indoors during the winter.

New Fans For An Updated Style of Furniture

I just love it when something from product heaven returns to us better than ever. What I mean is, I think it is fabulous when things are given a new lease on life. For example, bean bags ruled for a good long stint in the 60s and 70s. Then they basically were banished to furniture purgatory or something similar. Fast forward to modern day, and the remodeled, rethought, retooled bean bag has hit the scene again.

Sure, there are always going to be those who loved an item the first go round so much that they buy the latest version. But, in this instance, the furniture spoke to legions of people who had never been drawn to bean bags, and to others who were not even on this planet yet for the first run. The bitchin bean bags of yesterday have become the more fabulous funky bean bags of today.

Next thing I want to investigate is the new and improved versions of the good old Slip and Slide. I have no doubt that I will not be disappointed with that either.

The Bean Bag Goes Even Further

Seems like bean bags are falling from the sky. Their popularity has taken flight and they are landing on sandy beaches, flourishing garden floors, and other places people find to relax out of doors. They are peppering our countryside, and cityscape from end to end.

Of course there are many variations, some below high quality standards, and others that are reaching new standard heights. As fun as it is to jump on this bean filled bandwagon, buyer beware. If you purchase at the bottom of the totem pole in this case, you will undoubtedly find yourself unsatisfied with your seats. However, if you stick with the gold standard choice then your expectations will not only be met, but surpassed. Check out the selection on the Funky Bean Bags site to find the crème de la crème bean chairs.

How to Make the Most of Your Summer

Before it is too late, set aside some time to relax in your summer garden. Time spent lounging on a fluffy bean bag, with a good book and a cool drink are priceless. Pretty soon we will all be wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of life, and winter clothes. But there is still time to enjoy the great month of August, but you have to make it happen.

A nice slow paced Sunday involving half an hour of tending to the garden, then alternated with half an hour of recovery on some funky bean bags will leave you in a happy place. The only thing you will have to decide is what to sip on, and which way to angle the parasol.

These days will soon be a memory, and what it takes to get you through the predicted harsh winter. Though you will not have to part with your bean bag, because you will want to bring it inside, you will be separated from the warm fresh air, the colourful landscape, and long days. So stop dawdling, make it happen.

The Annual Movie Marathon Just Got Better

August 6th, 2010 by admin

I just bought an awesome flat screen off of Amazon in preparation for when all the summer blockbuster films make it to dvd. Each year my friends and I get together to have a movie marathon once the biggest hits have made it to the shelves. None of us has the time to see many of the movies, so we decided a couple years back that we would just skip them all until we could watch the best of the bunch back to back. The line up so far covers Despicable Me, Dinner for Schmucks, Salt, and believe it or not Twighlight Three Eclipse.

Along with the new television, I sprung for some new chairs from the Funky Bean Bags site. I really enjoy having everybody over, but my place has never been well equipped for company. It took this annual event to put a fire under me. But now, I am prepared for all kinds of guests. So, now that I have my bean bag set up, I am actually thinking of hosting a holiday event in my home too. Finish the movie marathon first and then we shall see.
