While the first bean bags sprouted up back in the 60s, there has been much done to improve them throughout the evolutionary process that has taken place since. It became quickly apparent that a sturdier, more resilient seat was in demand, and that the free form style had a limited following. Thus, what has happened is that the good old simple form is still readily available for those looking for a bit of make shift seating. And at the same time, sleeker, more formidable funky bean bags have been introduced to an adoring fan base. Thus, there are fans for each of the bean bag chair camps, the groovy ones and the fabulous ones. But, a certain level of loyalty exists for both, and for good reason.
